Overview

The new Bering 117 steel-hulled explorer is a very profound development of the Bering 106 model with a completely new approach toward satisfying the owner’s needs and comfort. The vessel was completely reconfigured to comply with the IMO Tier III regulations and to enhance the owner’s cruising experience.

Design

Several peculiar Bering family features are immediately distinguished in the Bering 117 exterior. These are high-flared bow with the freeboard lines prolonged aft to separate upper and main decks and semi-arch that streamline the yacht’s profile. Also, Bering 117 is rather sporty. With 36.5 meters LOA (33.7 meters at the waterline), she has a beam of 7.5 meters.

With more careful study, one can find a larger flybridge, a roomy saloon, and a prolonged upper deck. But the most important features are indeed hidden inside. Her longer hull allowed to enlarge the engine room to accommodate the Tier III compliant exhaust system that all the yachts above 24 meters and event less than 500GT (Bering 117 is 252GT) are obliged to install by 2021. Secondly, Bering 117 is the first Bering Yacht model to feature two terraces on the upper deck. Thirdly, as Bering 117 has twice more fuel than most of her sisterships (30 tons), she can travel really far — as far as 4000 miles with the cruising speed of 9 knots. The maximum speed that Bering 117 hybrid propulsion system can generate is 12 knots. Bering 117 can be powered with a double set of Cat C18 Acert 500 kW.

And finally, Bering 117 is one of very few explorer yachts on the market that has the master stateroom facing forward with a private bow deck and open Jacuzzi.

Living spaces / Entertainment

In terms of living spaces, Bering 117 has something to offer. There is plenty of room at each of the four levels of the yacht. The enormous half-covered teak-decked flybridge serves as a sun lounge and open dining area with a wet bar and optional grill or fully equipped galley.

The upper deck features the pilothouse and the captain’s en-suite cabin. The large 30 square meters saloon that is complemented by the boat deck has two balconies on port and starboard sides. The upper saloon can become a gym/fitness area, library, gentleman’s club, or even office room to the owner’s needs. To the forward of the pilothouse, there is an al-fresco lounge with settees and a table. From here, the guests can reach the enclosed open pool at the bow deck.

The spacious main deck is home to the immense saloon, adjacent formal dining area, a large galley, and an impressive full-beam master suite with His and Hers bathroom. Outside, the main deck aft offers an additional lounge area at the cockpit with stairs leading down to the swimming platform providing easy access to the water.

The forward-facing 30 square meters master stateroom has an additional 10 square meters wardrobe at the lower deck connected with the apartments by the private stairs. Also, the owner’s apartments have the bow deck entrance to reach the pool and the upper deck sun lounge with al-fresco dining.

Generally, the main deck saloon occupies an enormous area of almost 60 square meters plus a cockpit. This vast area is shared between the formal dining zone in the middle and relaxation zone with multimedia. The panoramic windows eliminate boundaries between inner and outer spaces.

Layout

The standard layout of the lower deck features guest rooms for eight guests and a crew. The en-suite guest rooms are up to 24 square meters in size, with wardrobes and big bathrooms. Optionally, the lower deck premises can be reconfigured to feature more storage rooms, sauna, or SPA.

Ideal for / Why Bering 117?

The ultra-modern Bering 117 has embodied both explorer yacht features and summer boat pleasures. The enormous saloon can host a large formal dinner or evening cocktails while the owner can at the same time conduct a business meeting at the upper deck office. The owner’s close ones will not be left unattended: there is a fully private bow deck pool and dining area if they want to be separate from the crowd. All in all, Bering 117 is full of fun as well as she is a true autonomous long-range cruiser: robust, safe, and efficient.
