Bering BC60: Aluminium Explorer Catamaran

Bering Yachts has completed the first hull of the BC60, an aluminium expedition catamaran designed for long-range cruising. Founder and CEO Alexei Mikhailov recently presented a full walkthrough of the vessel, which is already afloat and available for private inspection and sea trial in Antalya.

Measuring 18.9 metres (60 ft) in length with an 8.6-metre beam, the BC60 is built as a full-displacement explorer rather than a high-speed production catamaran. The all-aluminium construction delivers a shallow draft of 1.5 metres while maintaining the structural strength and ocean-crossing capability familiar from Bering’s steel monohulls. With more than 13,500 litres of fuel, the yacht achieves a range exceeding 3,500 nautical miles at 8 knots. Fresh-water capacity is approximately three cubic metres, supported by 1,500-litre grey and black water tanks.

“We applied the same principles we developed on the B72 and B88 — range, reliability, quiet operation and genuine self-sufficiency — to a twin-hull platform,” said Mikhailov. “This is a displacement exploration cat.”

The main-deck salon features a full helm station with uninterrupted 360-degree visibility. A professional galley runs along both sides and is equipped for serious use. One sponson contains a spacious master stateroom with walk-around bed, panoramic windows, a walk-in wardrobe and a spacious en-suite head with a full shower. The opposite sponson holds two guest cabins, each with its own bathroom. A crew cabin, laundry and extensive storage complete the lower accommodation.

The deep aluminium sponsons also create a practical two-level engine room, giving clear access to generators, watermakers and other systems while helping to keep noise and vibration away from the living spaces. Above, the fully enclosed flybridge serves as a second living area. It has all-round views, and can be arranged as a lounge, gym or office.

Particular attention has been paid to onboard quietness and long-term comfort. The layout supports both owner-operated cruising and use with a small crew. Protected running gear and robust construction reflect the same safety-focused approach found throughout the Bering range.

The first BC60 is available for viewing and sea trial in Antalya. Four additional hulls are currently under construction. To arrange a visit, contact [email protected].
