This extraordinary expedition, organized with the support of the Government of the Dominican Republic and in collaboration with Yachts for Science and Mission Blue, marks Bering Yachts’ first foray into global marine conservation. This project not only brings purpose to owning an explorer-type yacht but also showcases the exceptional capabilities of the B92.

Season One comes to an end with this episode. We visited Monemvasia Island and then took a long trip back to Antalya. We enjoyed the three weeks onboard B92 Papillon, which was going on her maiden voyage. She was almost perfect – no leaks, no breaks, and the 6-meter waves during this part of the trip did not affect passengers’ comfort. B92 truly is a Bering-built home-on-the-water.

The island of Santorini is located on a caldera, or a large volcanic crater, which formed after a major Minoan eruption in the 17th century BC. We travel through this dormant yet active collapsed mouth of the volcano to this beautiful and popular Mediterranean island known for its breathtaking views and famous Greek hospitality.

The island of Crete continues to embrace the Bering Yachts team with many events. The Armenis knife shop is, like many small businesses here, family-owned. Every handmade blade has an engraving made by the father, and the daughter takes care of sales and marketing. We participated in the engraving process; now, a Bering-engraved knife is in our collection.

The closer an orange is to the sun, the riper the fruit is. Our first stop after arriving at the Cretan port of Elounda was the Orange Village Fodele, and the owner of this family-owned orchard gave us a masterclass in picking the best oranges. We have also learned the word “philotimo,” which in Greek means hospitality and compassion for other people, and experienced it everywhere we went on Crete.

Here comes the third episode of the Bering Life Mediterranean edition. The next stop was Symi island, which, several hundred years ago, was making money off sea sponges, and before that, it was mentioned in Homer’s Iliad’s chip catalog. Alexei Mikhailov and the Bering crew came to Symi Bay, where many Mediterranean letters in the bottle thrown in the water swim to. Alexei takes a 50-knot-per-hour Bering Marine BM28 hydrofoil-supported catamaran to hunt octopuses and cook them in the galley of B92 Papillon in the evening.

From Kekova, Türkiye, we went to the Greek island of Rhodes. It is a place rich in history, sun, and great people. Follow Alexei and Bering Yachts team as we wander through the empty streets of Rhodes and Lindos, harvest the olives at the Apollona old garden, enjoy the sightseeing of ancient buildings… We have touched on the 2,400-year history of the island, which bore the marks of Ottoman Turks and ancient Greeks, Apostle Paul, and Knights of St. John.
