Bering Yachts has laid the keel for B60 CAT – its first catamaran

After announcing the new line of multihull boats and presenting a model of B60 CAT at the 2024 Palm Beach International Boat Show, it did not take us long to lay the keel for this first liveaboard transatlantic catamaran at our Antalya shipyard. The announcement, accompanied by a social network video, has generated an immense amount of interest. Many requests from sea and catamaran enthusiasts came our way, and the lucky owners have landed the first hull. The owners have welded the coin into the boat’s keel, and this is how we have started a new era at Bering Yachts.

Coming at 18.9 meters, B60 CAT has an 8.6-meter beam, 62.8 tons of displacement, and many other qualities, which give her full liveaboard exploration capabilities. She is powered by two Cummins engines, with 12 to 13 knots of cruise speed and 15 knots at max. The range for B60 CAT is about 3,000 nautical miles, and a 1.4-meter draft will allow her to comfortably navigate the Caribbean, and some coastal waters and inner bodies of water not accessible by the boats with deeper draft.

The large master bedroom has been made by combining the two smaller ones; there also are two guest staterooms and one crew cabin, thus making this a 4-cabin modification (5 and 6 cabins are also available). Owners also choose a closed flybridge, which will create a more private classical relaxation area accessible through the open-air stairs on that deck. The main deck has a multifunctional 50-square-meter interior area. It includes a lounge with a high/low table, a generously equipped galley with a bar, and a large dining table. A spacious 27.7-square-meter boat deck can serve as storage for a tender boat or for water toys. A 10-square-meter swimming platform on the lower deck will offer a great sea recreational option and can be lifted to extend the cockpit.

Known as a manufacturer of steel and aluminum exploration vessels of small and superyacht sizes, Bering Yachts is embarking on a multi-hull adventure with pride and excitement. Says Alexei Mikhailov, our founder: “Many people like the idea of a multihull, and we love it as well. Being made of aluminum and having two hulls, this boat will possess all the qualities Bering’s vessels are known for exploration capabilities, space, and exceptional craftsmanship. You will feel the same safety, comfort, and quality of life aboard.”

As we receive more inquiries regarding our catamarans, we expect this type of vessel to successfully extend the line of safe and reliable exploration Bering boats. Stay tuned for more news on catamaran keel laying!
