Bering Yachts has achieved a significant milestone with the launch of the first hull of the Bering BC60 — an aluminium expedition catamaran that introduces a new chapter in the brand’s explorer lineup.
This 62-foot catamaran represents a unique offering in today’s market. Purpose-built as a true expedition vessel, the BC60 carries exploration DNA of Bering Yachts: serious seaworthiness, long-range capability, and uncompromising comfort and safety, now reimagined in a twin-hull format.
Constructed entirely in aluminium the BC60 delivers an outstanding durability and remarkable shallow draft of just 1.3 meters. This allows her to access cruising grounds and anchorages that are off-limits, while her robust construction ensures comfortable long ocean passages.
With a fuel capacity exceeding 13,500 litres and a range of more than 3,000 nautical miles, the BC60 offers genuine transoceanic autonomy. Spacious storage for provisions further enhances her self-sufficiency, making her ideal for extended voyages far from support infrastructure.
“I’m so excited to finally see her in the water, and I can’t wait for the first sea trial. It’ll be great to feel how all those design decisions we made actually come together. We never compromise anywhere, I do think she’ll feel like a really complete boat straight out of the box! And quite a unique offering to the market.” — Scott Blees, Sabdes Boat Designs
Thanks to her displacement aluminum hull and carefully engineered construction, the BC60 provides exceptional stability and a smooth, comfortable motion even in challenging sea conditions. Particular attention has been paid to sound and vibration levels which are key factors for long-term onboard comfort. The result is a remarkably quiet and relaxing experience, whether at anchor or under way.
The BC60 offers flexible layouts with 4 to 6 cabins, extensive storage throughout, and a highly customisable interior. She is designed to operate comfortably as an owner-operated yacht or with a small crew of two. A standout feature is the fully enclosed flybridge, which serves as a second salon with a bar and 360-degree panoramic views — an ideal space that can also be configured as a gym, office, or library depending on the owner’s wishes.
Since her introduction, the Bering BC60 has quickly become one of the most requested models in Europe, the United States and other regions. The launch of the first hull marks an important moment, confirming strong client interest in this new generation of aluminium explorer catamarans.
The vessel will begin sea trials in the coming days, and we look forward to sharing her performance figures and first impressions very soon.
