Bering Expedition: Yachts. Science. Whales.

The Silver Bank video is here! Watch B92 Papillon serving as a research expedition vessel in the uncalm waters of the Dominican Republic’s unique breeding and calving grounds for the extinct humpback whales. Ran with the support of the Government of the Dominican Republic and in cooperation with Yachts for Science and Mission Blue, it was the first project involving Bering Yachts in exceptional activity meant to serve the worldwide marine life preservation activities while providing purpose to explorer-type yacht ownership.

Our full displacement exploration yachts are made for such endeavors, and collaboration with scientists creates a win-win situation. The owners get an opportunity to go off the beaten path and enjoy unique experiences, and the research community can work in an environment of unparalleled comfort and service. The Silver Bank trip will not be the last made by Bering boats; there are plans for collaboration in different parts of the world, from the Mediterranean to the Antarctic, and some of the owners have expressed interest in participating in the program.

We make boats capable and safe for owners and passengers. Our design allows us to reduce noise and vibration pollution, and engineering solutions reduce fuel consumption and turn towards alternative energy sources. Being a part of this world, Bering Yachts takes deliberate action to participate in conservation and protection activities to save the planet. It is not only for a beautiful video or viral marketing; we mean it.

Do not miss the interviews with Bering Yachts’ founder, Alexei Mikhailov, and our research partners, Mission Blue and Yachts for Science, where they talk about great new experiences, exceptional capability, and service onboard B92, meaning of luxury yachts’ involvement in the marine research, future plans for Bering Yachts participation in similar projects worldwide, and much more. See the real-life footage filmed by our partners and enjoy incredible moments of diving with whales – something that less than 500 people worldwide can do!

The Silver Bank expedition was eventualized through collaborative efforts of the Government of the Dominican Republic, Blue Marine Foundation, Blue Nature Alliance, Wyss Foundation, Mission Blue, and Caribbean Cetacean Society. The Yachts for Science initiative, which involved Bering Yachts, is made possible by the Ocean Family Foundation, BOAT International, Nekton, EYOS expeditions, and others.
